I do a lot of reading about the proper golf grip and I have read this quote multiple times now so it must be of value to pass on to my readers.
"Don't squeeze the toothpaste out of the tube."
Your grip must be a partial relaxed grip. You can develop this grip by using your fingers and not your palms.
Getting comfortable with the proper golf grip can be a tough challenge by feeling quite ackward at first. Here are a few tips to your grip:
- Your grip must be a partial relaxed grip. You can develop this grip by gripping towards your fingers and not your palms.
- Your grip should make a "V" (thumb and pointer finger crease). Both hands "V's" should point past your right shoulder (for a right handed golfer)
- A firm grip is like grabbing an egg, not too light that you could drop it, not to tight to break the egg but "firm" to have control.
Your grip is your only link from you to your club, it is extremely important to get this right and equally important that you have good grips on your clubs. Your golf club regripping should take place once a year or after about 40 rounds of golf.
